Trump’s president (again). What now?

Don’t panic, we’re going to be okay.

The bad orange man is back AND i couldn’t feel more determined

It was a long time ago but somehow feels like yesterday at the same time, something my friend said her therapist explained to her as “time dilation.” This is something I think about all the time. I am still chillin’ in Cedar Rapids.

This time, the liberals are even more ruthless. I saw one on BlueSky named Deb say she hopes they all “get deported.” “They” meaning Muslims who reportedly cost Harris the election by voting for Trump or not voting at all, according to the opinion post published as a news article they were responding to. How the face has eaten its own asshole. I suggested she go back to Facebook to keep getting tricked by AI images of Jesus.

I’m going to assume there’s overlap between the people clutching pearls over the UHC hero saying he lacks humanity and the ones who are calling for community members to vote for the people who have completely annihilated their entire family lineages.

The man who got voted in by the incels and the divorced dads whose number one question to Kamala was, “What are you going to do about child support?” What are you going to do for me?

Yes, very transactional of them. They are men, after all. But also understandable. We’re all drowning,  and the only one who even mentioned the economy was Voldemort. I mean Trump. (I beg you all, please read another book ffs.)

Paycheck to app advance cash to paycheck is fucking tough. Now we’re perpetually behind, perpetually in debt, just like the capitalists want us to be, all so they can skim whatever’s leftover from our humanity that they can exploit while bleeding us dry.

The second highest support for Trump after white men was white women. Due to their proximity to whiteness in the patriarchal capitalist system, they uphold it for their own personal interests. Just like the suffragettes who said “Fuck these niggas,” but with a hard “r”.

Thanks to the UHC assassin, the contradictions have sharpened, visible to the public. Nuance has taken the floor. Now that we have identified the culprit (the ruling class/bourgeoisie/monopoly capitalists), what is to be done? What can one do in between pilates class and working a dumb ass job?

There are a few personal steps anyone can take and different personal capacities can join existing communities, or create their own. The beautiful thing about grassroots organizing is that all you need is to unite around one thing. Uniting on all that can be united on is important in the strategic alliance.

Strategic alliance, in short, means none of us are free until all of us are free, and that we need a diverse working class to lead the revolution. This means uniting with people who you may not necessarily get along with, but you still have a common goal.

Organizing can be scary at first. I’m terrified of people I don’t know, and probably always will be. Okay, that’s probably a bit of an overstatement, but I can empathize with people who actually are. We have been groomed to seek individualism at the cost of being isolated and unloved in return. My Squishmallow is proof of this. Capitalism kills public transit, walkable neighborhoods, adequate food sources, all for the name of competition for who can exploit the most and garner the largest control over society.

Another step one can take is read, read read. Most books about Marxist-Leninist theory are free online. I’ll talk about this in another post, but socialism, which is the precursor to communism, is pretty much the only alternative to whatever…this is. Here’s a list of readings to get yourself familiarized. Not a reader? You can find most of these readings on YouTube as well where someone does all of the reading for you. You can do this while walking on your TikTok walking pad, 25 minutes a day. What a time to be alive. Something, something, something, this is just like that Black Mirror episode from 2015, you know, before the pandemic.

Another thing the ruling class wants is for you to feel nihilistic to the core. The world’s on fire, interest rates are through the roof, and yet people are still having kids?! Well, yeah. You can’t make choices for other people. Just because you don’t think a new generation should exist, doesn’t prevent it from happening.

While things may still feel hopeless, you can influence that to turn into anger, then transform into determination. These are the stages of revolutionary optimism. I wonder if Elizabeth Kubler-Ross ever looked into this.

Come January 20th, we need to brace ourselves for the new Steve Bannons, the Matt Gaetzes who make it through to the cabinet. This time, there might not be acidic matter in the hot tub, or such blatant teen sex trafficking, but there will be Linda McMahon in lieu of Betsey DeVos. The WWE Magnate will change the curriculum requirements to include Stone Cold Stunner lessons I hear.

Stay safe out there.
